A woman has died after police and ambulance staff were called over concerns for welfare.
Residents reported seeing a number of police cars and ambulance vehicles outside an address in Skitts Hill, Braintree, this afternoon.
Her death is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We were called at around 11.30am this morning, September 19, with concerns for the welfare of a woman at an address in Skitts Hill, Braintree.
"Ambulance staff attended and sadly pronounced a woman dead.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM’s Coroner."
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "An ambulance, two hazardous area response team vehicles and an ambulance officer were called to an address at Skitts Hill, Braintree, following concerns for a woman's welfare.
"Sadly despite the best efforts of all involved, the patient died on the scene."
