A redundant police station is set to become a veterinary surgery, in a move which will create eight new jobs.
Mercer and Hughes, which already runs practices in Stansted, Dunmow and Saffron Walden, has received planning permission to convert what was once Bocking Police Station, in Church Lane.
The premises will undergo a revamp to turn it into a vets practice, which will then offer three full-time and five part-time jobs to the community.
Mercer and Hughes did not wish to comment on its plans at this time.
The station, which closed completely within the last 18 months, has held several different roles for Essex Police, including a police house, communications centre and a roads policing base.
