Youngsters took part in a mini marathon to help raise cash for a popular charity.
Dozens of children and their families took part in the event at Great Notley Country Park, near the home of charity Play and Resource Centre (Parc), on Sunday.
The marathon was kicked off by the mascot Bear, with children traversing the route around the park’s discovery centre.
Friederike Walter, digital media and events manager at Parc, said: “All the children and their families did a great job walking and running the course in less than an hour, collecting money for the charity on the way.
“Tesco Great Notley and the Women’s Institute in Notley Green very kindly supported Parc by donating water, lunch and some delicious cakes.”
Parc supports children with additional needs by providing them with recreational opportunities in the area. It supports more than 500 families across Essex.
The charity’s centre, located at Great Notley Country Park, was rated outstanding by Ofsted last year.
