Two men pretending to be police officers stole cash during a flat burglary.
The men posed as police to gain entry to a flat in Braintree and, after the door had been opened, stole £10.
The incident happened in Keeble Way and after taking the money the men ran towards the fire station.
The first man is described as being medium build and 5ft 10 inches tall. He had blonde hair, wore a black jacket and jeans and is estimated to be in his mid-to-late 20s.
The second is of a similar height and build. He is estimated to be in his mid-to-late 20s and has short dark hair. He also wore a black jacket and jeans.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We would always encourage the public to be on their guard with unannounced callers, and ask for identification if they claim to be from an official body or agency."
