King Richard III is always shown on television, in books and in Shakespeare’s plays as a bloody tyrant - but was he really?
A thought provoking talk at St Nicolas Church, on Chipping Hill, Witham, by Dr Phil Stone hopes to shatter some myths and describe what he was really like to a modern audience.
Marian Mitchell belongs to the Richard III Society and a is member of the St Nicolas congregation.
She said: “Everyone believes what they have been told in Shakespeare or on the television such as the idea that Richard had a hunched back but we hope this talk might show what the real Richard was like.
The talk on Saturday July 6 starts at 7.30pm at the church and tickets are available in advance from 01376 502674 or on the door, priced at £8, including a glass of wine and nibbles.
