A housing association has reassured its residents their homes meet modern safety standards, following a devastating house fire.

Greenfields Community Housing has issued a statement after a resident’s concerns that the plasterboard in the homes is not safe.

Sue Harris, 47, of Coldnailhurst Avenue, Braintree, was one of the people who saw the fire in Rosemary Avenue on August 25.

The mother-of-five expressed concerns the homes were not up to scratch after the fire left two families homeless.
