A care home charity has revived plans to demolish four cottages and replace them with a combination of private and affordable housing.
The Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution (RMBI) wants to build 14 private homes and five affordable homes in Church Lane, Bocking.
But nearby residents have objected to the application, which is the third to be submitted in the last year, citing traffic concerns.
The charity originally bought the land to replace its existing care home at Stisted Hall, but has been unable to get permission for the size of development necessary.
