A politician has been immortalised in paint for charity.

Witham MP Priti Patel has had her portrait painted as part of an exhibition to raise money for Helen Rollason Cancer Charity.

She was approached by James Wilkinson - the artist-in-residence at Hylands House, Chelmsford – who is holding the Back to Black art exhibition at The Bar in Chelmsford on July 12.

Tickets for the exhibition - where there will also be live music - are £5 from www.paintpop.com or the charity’s office at Yvonne Stewart House, The Street, Hatfield Peverel.
