Residents have expressed their concerns to police about incidents of anti-social behaviour in Witham.

Fears over vandalism were high on the agenda at the town's police and community consultation group meeting at the John Bramston School.

The get-together was one of a series of events across Essex in the past few months, designed to bring issues of general concern to the attention of the police.

One resident who attended told how drunken vandals had regularly damaged walls and fences in her street - Collingwood Road - during the evenings and at night.

Another speaker from the Templars estate expressed concern about yobs hurling abuse at her.

Parts of Witham South and the town centre were also singled out as areas where people had witnessed anti-social behaviour.
