David Cameron and Foreign Office officials have been pressed to support a grieving mum whose son was killed in a nightclub attack abroad.
Witham MP Priti Patel has raised the case again of Marie Heath, from Silver End, whose son Lee, 31, was killed in April.
Ms Patel, who raised the case in Parliament last month, met Foreign Office officials and the Victims’ Commissioner on Monday and has contacted the Prime Minister.
She said: “Whether crimes are committed at home or abroad victims and their families should be fully supported.
“The killing of Lee Heath was a terrible crime and I am concerned to see the limited amount of help available.
“In my meeting with officials and conversations with ministers, I have pressed them to ensure that the British authorities do all they can to assist the Heath family in these difficult circumstances.”
