The curse of Cressing village fair struck again on Saturday as the heavens opened.
Last year a freak whirlwind lifted traders stalls and gazebos into the air, but last weekend the heavy rain put a dampener on proceedings.
Around 100 people still turned out to show their support, but organisers fear they may not have even broken even because of the weather.
Those who did attend were entertained by a steel band, and also got to make the headteacher of Cressing School, Stewart Caplen, even more wet by throwing sponges at him while he was in the stocks.
