Plans to build 84 new homes near Witham high street have been unveiled.
The development which is south east of Newland Street and will surround Gimsons, off Kings Chase in Witham, is being proposed by Bovis Homes.
Under the plans 30 per cent of the homes will be affordable housing and the new estate will be accessed via River View and offer pedestrian links through Kings Chase and Laurence Avenue.
Michael Lager, who is a town councillor for the ward, said: “In my personal view this has come forward much too early.”
