A heart attack patient has received an apology after his medical records were mixed up with those of another man.
Hospital staff did not correct Stuart Parker’s records as soon as they realised they were wrong.
And he was given medication despite the incorrect details being used on his identity band, which nursing staff are expected to check when giving medication.
The 36-year-old mechanic, of Porters Field, Braintree, was transferred to Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, last October after undergoing heart surgery at Basildon Hospital.
