A hospital chief has apologised after doctors failed to examine a dying man for two days.
Peter McCormick,57, was due to have a biopsy on a lump near his collarbone on March 9 but was admitted to Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, that day after his condition deteriorated.
He remained on two wards in what his wife described as a "living coma" unable to move, speak or sit up.
However he was not seen by a doctor again until March 11.
