Children could be at risk because of irresponsible dog owners, a couple have warned.
Karen and Terry Hayley are urging parents to be on their guard after their dog was attacked on the Braintree and Bocking Recreation Ground off John Ray Street.
The Hayley’s fox terrier, Lucky, needed 12 stitches in his groin area and suffered a puncture wound to his back leg after being attacked by a pit bull or Staffordshire bull terrier type dog on August 8.
The pit bull/staffy dog was not on a lead.
