A fire has damaged 24 cars in Stansted’s long stay car park.
The blaze started at about 2.30am today and the alarm was raised by a member of the car park staff.
The fire is thought to have been caused by an electrical fault in one of the cars.
Initially, fire fighters sent one appliance because only one car was reported to be alight.
However, on arrival the officer in charge requested three additional crews when they found multiple cars were on fire.
Fire fighters wore breathing apparatus, used four hose reels and one main jet to tackle the blaze.
The police are not treating the incident as suspicious.
