He's still got it: Don Robertson shows the youngsters what he's made of at the European Yo-yo Championships in Prague
A yo-yo legend has finally handed over his European champion title after 57 years.
Don Robertson, of Kenworthy Road, Braintree, has just returned from Prague where he passed on the accolade to Vaclav Kroutil from the Czech Republic.
The 81-year-old, who used to be the face of Duncan yo-yos, won the first European championship back in 1953.
Last weekend’s competition in Prague saw the championship’s rebirth.
Mr Robertson, who used to be a magician, said: “It was wonderful. I really enjoyed it.”
