THREE yobs attacked a teenage boy.
At around 7pm on Tuesday, three boys aged around 15 and 16 set upon the 17-year-old from Braintree in the town's Panfield Lane.
He was wrestled to the ground and punched and kicked, causing scratches to his face and a slight swelling to his forehead.
A car travelling down Sunnyside towards Panfield Lane drove slowly past the incident and the assailants ran off.
A 15-year-old boy from Braintree has been arrested on suspicion of assault and released on police bail pending further enquiries to return to Braintree police station on February 26.
Police are appealing for the occupants of that car, and anyone else who witnessed or has information about this incident, to contact PC Anna Kynaston at Braintree police station on 0300 3334444, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
