A headteacher has claimed A level league tables do not reflect pupil performance.
Felsted School headteacher Dr Michael Walker has criticised league tables which do not include International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) results.
Dr Walker of the independent boarding and day school, said: “The IB, recognised around the world as being a leading global qualification, is not recognised.
“In the A level table, the many Felsted students who take the more challenging IB as an alternative to A levels, are simply not recognised, so again the league tables do not show a true and fair reflection of overall pupil performance at Felsted.”
At Felsted School, 35.2% of A level grades were grade A.
Its A level points score per candidate, which includes some other equivalent qualifications, was 816.8.
