As September was the open meeting, the branch was delighted to have visitors from Paycocks, Tiptree and White Notley WIs.
President Christine Smith welcomed members and guests, and began the evening by reading cards and letters of thanks received following the branch’s 90th birthday celebration.
A special thank you was given to Jean Anderson for supplying the raffle prizes. Christine also read a letter from Leukemia Research, which had been sent to Joan Brown thanking her for her generous donation made following her garden party in June.
The branch hopes to have a Christmas shopping trip to Norwich on November 26.
Barbara Faulkner then gave a talk about music hall, and presented a one-woman show reminiscent of The Good Old Days, with songs by Marie Lloyd and George Formby.
After refreshments and raffle, Pat Newling organised a quiz, also on a musical theme, with the winners receiving a small prize.
