Witham Under-14s opened their season with a hard-fought win away at Braintree.
Braintree started strongly, but Witham hit back with tries from Luke, Albert, Alex and McKenzie.
Luke scored from a scrum before Ben converted, and Albert then crossed.
Alex then sprinted 50 metres under the posts, with Ben converting again.
McKenzie added another try, which Ben converted, before Albert completed his brace.
A late Braintree try made for a tense finish, but the visitors held on for victory.
Witham now looks forward to their next fixture at home to Chelmsford.
