A MAN who was caught doing 100mph on the A120 and admitted he was going “a bit fast” has kept his licence.
Adrian Magadan, 44, appeared in Colchester Magistrates’ Court after admitting to driving at around 100mph in on the A120 near Dunmow in April this year.
“I was driving a bit fast,” Magadan said. “Way faster than I should.
“I was driving to go home as fast as I could to get some pills for type two diabetes.”
Magadan explained he had got stuck in traffic on the M11 and the A120 was the first stretch of clear road he had.
“I was overtaking a car and I saw a police car that came very quickly behind me,” Magadan said.

The court asked if he had thought about the impact on other motorists and others being able to avoid him when he was travelling at 100mph.
The court also asked if he had considered pulling over when he was feeling unwell due to needing his diabetes tablets.
“I am sorry to say that I didn’t,” Magadan said. He told the court losing his licence would impact his job.
The court took into account his previous good character, with no other points on his licence.
Bench chair Janice Tonge added: “You shouldn’t be on the road when you are not feeling well.”
Magadan, of Mill Bridge, Halstead, received points on his licence and was fined £565, £120 in costs, and a £226 victim surcharge – a total of £911.
