Colchester Zoo has announced two new job opportunities.
The roles have been created to support the zoo as it heads into its main visitor season.
The zoo, which houses over 150 species and attracts more than a million visitors annually, says the new recruits will be integral to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for guests.
They are searching for a a scaffolder/labourer and a catering team leader.
The scaffolder/labourer role is described as an "exciting opportunity" to join the maintenance team.
This dual role will involve both scaffold work and wider site labouring, including tasks such as groundworks, drainage, block paving, habitat improvements, demolition, and other construction and maintenance duties.
Candidates must have at least five years of scaffolding experience and hold a scaffolding qualification.
The zoo is looking for a practical and methodical individual who enjoys working outdoors in all weather conditions, is aware of health and safety requirements, and can use a range of hand and power tools.
The role is full-time and permanent, with typical working hours from 7am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, and the expectation of at least one weekend day, plus public and school holidays.

The catering team leader role is within the zoo's largest department, which has 110 staff members and runs 15 catering outlets across the site.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing staff as they prepare and serve food, drinks, and ice creams, maintaining high cleaning standards, handling customer complaints, and ensuring strong customer engagement.
Applicants should have at least 12 months' experience in the catering industry and be passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.
The full-time role involves working weekends and holiday periods, with some evening shifts during special events such as Halloween and Christmas.
Uniforms are provided for both roles, and salaries will be discussed at interview.
