A RECORD number of children took part in Witham MP Priti Patel's annual Christmas card competition.

Children from schools all over the Witham constituency submitted creative designs based on the theme "joy around the world".

After strong competition, Louie from Acorn Academy was selected as the overall winner.

His artwork will feature on Ms Patel's official 2025 Christmas card, and will be sent to businesses, diplomats and parliamentarians.

Ms Patel said: "I have been delighted to see such an incredible number of entries this year, and the standard has been exceptional.

"Louie’s winning design is beautiful and captures the festive season with the theme of around the world.

"I am proud of all the pupils who took part, and I want to thank the teachers and schools who supported the competition and encouraged their students’ creativity."
