The largest arts and crafts retailer in the UK has announced the arrival of Toys R Us inside one of its Essex branches.
Hobbycraft is set to open the nation's favourite toy brand within its Chelmsford retail park store.
The launch forms part of a national rollout across six UK stores, bringing the brand back to communities with an exciting, interactive in-store experience for families.
To celebrate the launch, Hobbycraft and Toys R Us will host a free, family-friendly grand opening event on Saturday, December 6.
It will feature goody bags, entertainment, activities and more for the community.
Kicking off at 9am, attendees will enjoy an exciting programme of entertainment:
- Goody bag giveaway for the first 50 customers
- Exclusive opening offers and discounts available in-store
- A meet and greet with Geoffrey the giraffe and ribbon-cutting from 9am
- A golden ticket giveaway – find the ticket and win a prize
- A free colouring station featuring Toys R Us activity sheets
- Free face painting with Snazaroo
- Live demos and giveaways from popular brands including Lego
Hobbycraft believes the shop-in-shop concept strengthens the growing presence of Toys R Us within UK retail spaces.

Customers can visit the Hobbycraft store and attend the event at Chelmer Village Retail Park, Chelmers Village Way, Chelmsford.
Kicking off from 9am and finishing at 1pm.
The store will remain open until 6pm.
