An MP has visited a primary school in Witham to reveal the winner of her annual Christmas card competition.
Dame Priti Patel, MP for Witham, headed to Acorn Academy to announce the winning design for her yearly contest.
It was a challenging judging process, as Dame Priti was "extremely impressed" by the talent of the children.
But this year, Dame Priti selected six-year-old Izzabella Arienzo as the winner of the competition.
During her visit to the school, Ms Patel presented Izzabella with a winners certificate, a prize, and expressed her gratitude for the "wonderful" Christmas card entry.
The winning card design captures a classic Christmas scene, featuring three snowmen with traditional carrot noses and festive red woolly hats.
Ms Patel said: "Thank you to all of the children who took the time to submit entries to my Christmas card competition this year.
"It was a tough decision to pick just one winner as they were all so wonderful.
"However, there was one design in particular which stood out to me whilst reviewing all the entries, which was Izzabella’s painting of three snowmen in a traditional Christmas scene.
"I want to thank Izzabella for submitting her artwork, and I hope that she continues to pursue her artistic talent which is now for all to see as the cover image on my Christmas card for this year.
"I look forward to next year’s competition entries and I wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year."
