A MAN has been arrested and charged after reports of rape and false imprisonment in Witham.
An investigation by detectives followed a woman making a report to a Sexual Assault Referral Centre, before contacting Essex Police earlier this month.
Enquiries have since been led by detectives in the force’s Adult Sexual Abuse Investigations Team, who put support in place for the woman and gathered evidence.
Carter Adams, 30, of Western Road, Silver End, was arrested on Thursday, October 17, charged and remanded in custody.
He faces two charges of rape and one of false imprisonment and is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Friday, October 18.
