A POPULAR event full of family fun is returning to Witham next month.
Witham Town Council will host the town’s 25th annual Street Entertainment Festival next month.
Formerly known as the Puppet Festival, the event has become a main fixture in Witham’s calendar since 1999, when the first Street Entertainment Festival took place.
Set up and organised by the town council, the event always takes place on the third Saturday of September in the centre of town.
This year, the festival will see a number of acts perform in Newland Street, as well as the Newlands Shopping Centre, the Grove Shopping Centre, and the United Reform Church.
Among many acts, the event will feature performances from The Wonder Woman Street Show, Mobile Comedy Kitchen, Granny Turismo and Princesses.
Witham Town Council will close the road between Collingwood Road and Maldon Road for the event.
A spokesman for the Town Council said: “The event regularly draws large numbers of visitors into the town to enjoy this free festival – make sure you don’t miss out."
The festival will take place on September 21, from 10am to 3pm and is free to all visitors.
