Residents celebrated inclusivity at Braintree’s first ever colourful Pride event this weekend.
The event had been organised by Salvation Army Housing Association Braintree Foyer and took place at Weavers Park.
Celebrating diversity, inclusivity and the LGBTQ+ community, the family-oriented day saw a range of entertainment, food trucks, vendors and activities to take part in.
During the Pride month in June, many events took place across the country, as celebrations are continuing throughout August.
It is dedicated to celebrating LGBT pride, commemorating the contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender culture and community while showing acceptance and tolerance for one another.
Braintree Foyer, a modern support housing development, provides 35 self-catering rooms and support services for people aged 18-35 who are experiencing homelessness.
The new event was well received by residents and will not be the only Pride event takin place this month, with the Colchester Pride March scheduled for next Saturday, August 17.
