A NETWORK which supports Witham businesses has delivered copies of its proposal so it can continue working for the next five years.
Every business in the Witham Industrial Watch (WIW) area has received a hand delivered copy of the WIW business improvement district (BID) proposal as well as a slip to vote for whether or not the WIW continue for the next five years.
For the last 15 years, hundreds of businesses and thousands of staff on the industrial estates have benefited from the services of WIW which the groups says has “transformed” the area from “crime and antisocial behaviour” to “safety and security”.
WIW has provided and maintained eight defibrillators, conducted training courses on first aid and safety as well as liaising with Essex Police, Braintree Council and Essex County councils.
The network has also monitored more than 80 CCTV cameras, eight number recognition cameras, and managed incidents, working alongside DEW Security.
Kate Carling, honorary sectary of WIW, said: “Today we have a thriving business community on the estates employing thousands of local people as well as those from outside the town.
“They all help to generate income for the local economy which benefits us all, but we need a yes vote to continue our good work.”
