A 15-YEAR-OLD boy has been charged with robbery after a teenager's coat was allegedly stolen.
Police received a report that a 15-year-old youth's coat had been stolen in New Street, Braintree, at about 3pm on Monday, May 27.
Officers attended the scene and arrested two 14-year-old boys and a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of robbery and recovered a coat.
All three teenagers have been released on bail until August 23.
Three days later, officers arrested a fourth boy, who is also 15.
He has now been charged with robbery and a public order offence, and is due to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, June 4.
Essex Police have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
A spokesman said: “If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.
“Please quote the crime reference number 42/82009/24.”
