A person was taken to hospital after a crash involving three vehicles on the road between Darlington and Barnard Castle today (Monday, April 29). 

Emergency services were alerted to the collision on the A67 Darlington Road, near Barnard Castle, at 3.45pm. 

The road was closed from Mount Eff Road to Town Pasture Lane while police and paramedics dealt with the incident. 

A spokesman for North East Ambulance Service said: "We received a call at 15.46h today (29 APR) to report a road traffic collision on A67 Darlington Road in Barnard Castle involving three vehicles.

The Northern Echo:

The road was reopened at about 7pm.
