A MOTHER of three diagnosed with terminal cancer has penned a book on her experience - releasing it a year after a live-saving operation.
Robyn Isles, 45, has released a book entitled My Second Life.
It is an emotive story lifted from a year’s worth of journal notes during her on-going battle with cancer.
In November 2022, Robyn, from Braintree, was diagnosed with level four bowel cancer.
At the time, she was informed by medical experts that it was incurable, inoperable and was offered palliative chemotherapy, but declined.
However, two months later, after more investigations such as a laparoscopy, there was a change of opinion by the doctors.
On January 24, 2023, Robyn underwent an operation which resulted in the successful removal of the tumour.
Now, Robyn is in a "positive" place and her current status is 'NED', which stands for no evidence of disease.
She will be monitored for the next five years before she can be given the all-clear.
Robyn was inspired to write the book after realising that keeping a journal had become a source of strength for her.
Speaking about the new release, she said: “I cover a lot of topics - death, mental health, childhood trauma and cancer in the book.
“The response so far has been very good from people who have purchased it.
“I think my words could help other people in a situation such as that.
“I want to offer words of hope, courage, and positivity,
“I deep dive into topics. Regardless of what happens to me, I think my book can help others."
Robyn is "proud" to have written down this chapter of her life and is continuing through her healing journey.
She said: "I feel good. I am healing, learning, healing from childhood trauma, I’m living life.
"The journey continues and I think a lot of people forget that. The journey for cancer patients is on-going, the book is also a message of endurance."
Prior to the release of My Second Life, Robyn wrote a children’s book called The Goblins, and The Journey To Gold: Healing Through Poetic Energy.
