LIFE-SAVING equipment has been installed on a Witham housing estate.

Security firm Executive UK Group donated a defibrillator which is now located on the Premier shop in Wulvesford, on the Hatfield Road Estate.

The initiative came after resident Dean Wells raised concerns about the limited life-saving equipment in the area.

Executive UK Group director Scott Foord recently attended a first aid course, which inspired him to support the initiative.

The Witham Hub will oversee the defibrillator, which can be used to keep cardiac arrest victims alive before paramedics arrive.

Hub chairman Tina Townsend said: “The hub is already the custodian of two defibrillators in the town centre and is delighted to extend its support to the Hatfield Road Estate.

"We can never have enough defibrillators, so we are more than happy to facilitate this and to ensure a vital piece of equipment is available to anyone who needs it, in potentially life-threatening situations.”

Mr Wells said: “I posted my concerns about the lack of cover on our estate on social media and was immediately contacted by Tina.

"She was amazing and took care of all the details and liaison needed to get the defibrillator installed. None of us ever want to use it but knowing it is there gives us all bit of comfort.”

Mr Foord added: said: “The Witham Hub is a fantastic charity that has the community at heart, and this latest initiative underscores its commitment to local people, yet again and I’m proud to support it.”
