POLICE were called to rescue a driver who drove into deep water after following sat nav directions.
Officers from the Uttlesford local policing team responded to reports of a collision in Dunmow on Sunday evening.
On arrival, officers located a vehicle almost entirely submerged in water, close to the B1256 and A120 junctions.
Fortunately, the driver had managed to escape from the vehicle and seek help.
A police spokesman said: "The driver stated he was following his Sat Nav and trusted its directions.
"Sat navs are rarely wrong, but they aren't perfect - please ensure you check your route is suitable and if something doesn't seem right, check again."
