A POSTIE will dress up as Father Christmas this Saturday to raise money for a hospice.
Russell Goodhew has worked as a ‘postie’ for Royal Mail for more than 35 years and has worked in Braintree for three years.
This year, Russell says the whole team will be fundraising for Farleigh Hospice in various ways, from organising raffles to donating to hampers.
Donations are already currently at about £240, with more people promising to help on the day, while the fundraising target is £500.
Russell will start his day as normal at about 6.20am and will then put on his red suit for a full day, joining the Braintree Royal Mail’s Christmas party at 7pm.
He said: “I will be wearing quite a few thermals, as I normally do.”
