POLICE were called following reports of a man with a knife.
Earlier this month, officers received a number of calls reporting a man with a knife in the area of Lancaster Way in Braintree.
It was reported the incident also involved a delivery driver.
Officers were quickly dispatched but the man had left the scene upon becoming aware police had been called.
Upon arrival, a description of the suspect was obtained along with a vehicle registration and direction of travel.
A short time later, officers located the vehicle in question and a man was arrested.
The man was bailed from police custody for further enquiries.
A man has now been charged with the possession of a bladed article in a public place and common assault as well as driving without a licence and insurance.
He is due to appear in court next month.
