A GP surgery has bounced back after being told it required improvement last year.

After an inspection in June last year, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) told Kelvedon and Feering Health Centre it required improvement in all areas of its report.

The watchdog has now published its updated findings after an inspection last month, and the inspector was full of praise for the practice, in High Street, Kelvedon.

The surgery is now rated 'good' by the CQC in all five areas – including safety, care, and leadership.

Many of the criticisms raised following last year’s inspection were addressed in the latest report.

The surgery had previously been criticised for its uptake of cervical screenings being below average, but this is now in line with the average for England.

The report continued: “National GP survey data showed a small improvement for patient satisfaction in some areas where the practice had performed below local and national averages the previous year.

“The practice had implemented changes to improve patient satisfaction and was reviewing it continually.”

The CQC said recent adjustments to improve the surgery for patients with dementia were “outstanding”, with a reorganised flow in the waiting area.
