The five senses were explored by parents who were pupils at their childrens' infants school for the day.
Youngsters at Templars Infant School in Witham guided their parents around a host of different activities related to the senses.
Last week parents and grandparents were at the Cressing Road school for sessions with a science focus.
The 23 Year 2 children in the orange class had already learnt about the senses earlier in the term and last week it was the turn of their families.
Karen Savage, the class teacher, said there were different activities to test each sense from tasting different foods with a blindfold on, to seeing only part of a picture and trying to guess what the full image was.
Mrs Savage said: "The parents really enjoyed it and said they had a good time and the children enjoyed having them in."
