An application for a new shop front was recommended for approval by Witham Town Council.
On Monday night Witham town council's planning applications sub-committee discussed an application from Stefan Martin of Holland and Barrett Retail Ltd.
The application, which is registered with Braintree council, is to install a new shop front and air conditioning unit at unit eight in the Grove Shopping Centre, Witham.
Paul Heath, former town mayor, said: "It's often said that we need some higher profile retailers and Holland and Barrett are of that name."
Councillors voted to recommend approval of the proposal.
