MALDON Croquet Club has a new home in Hatfield Peverel.
The Maldon club has been given exclusive use of the outdoor playing area at the Keith Bigden Memorial Ground - the home of Hatfield Peverel Bowling Club.
The club was founded in 2011 at Drapers Farm Sports and Social Club in Heybridge, before later moving to Forrester Park Golf Club at Great Totham.
Following a change of ownership at Forester Park several sites were considered and the club was offered the Hatfield Peverel Bowling Club facility.
A spokesman said it makes an "ideal" new home.
"This facility provides the club with two outstanding croquet lawns which are maintained by an outside contractor," they said.
"At present we have over 60 members who have the opportunity to play socially or competitively.
"Anyone is welcome to come along and try their hand or just to spectate to get an idea of the game."
