HUNDREDS of car and bike enthusiasts are set to roll into Braintree as an annual event makes its return.

The popular Braintree and Bocking Public Gardens Classic Car Show is back again this weekend.

The event has been running for several years, with last year’s event being a big success.

Visitors were treated to live music, stalls and catering outlets, as well as 140 classic cars and bikes.

Last year’s winners of the Les Ely Memorial Cup for the best car on show were father and son duo Alan and Gary Dines with their beautifully restored classic Austin Healey Sprite, Mark II – 1963.

A show spokesman said: “This event is always well attended and has a wonderful display of many different classic vehicles with a lovely atmosphere.

“On the day there will be live music from duo Double Trouble and singer Lisa Day. There will be local independent stalls as well as food vendors, a cafe and a bar.

“It is free to exhibit a car or motorcycle and if you would like to do so, you can email, classiccarandbike@braintreeandbockinggardens.co.uk or go to our website or Facebook page for an exhibitor’s form.

“We are also looking for a couple more independent craft stalls so if you are interested in having a stall at the event, please message our Facebook page.”

The event is this Sunday, September 3, from 10am to 4pm.
