BRAINTREE Council has launched a new innovative initiative aimed at supporting sole traders, freelancers and independent professionals.

The scheme offers sole traders free access to a fully equipped co-working space enabling them to work collaboratively as well as network in a vibrant community.

The aim is to drive entrepreneurship, creativity, innovation, productivity and economic growth in local communities.

The scheme gives sole traders access to a free hot desk three days a week for a year.

The spaces worth more than £1,500 per person are being paid for by the Government.

The spaces must be taken up at the Plaza Enterprise and Innovation Centre in Great Notley.

The workspaces come with free high-speed internet, parking and bookable meeting rooms and conference spaces. There is also a reception area and cafe.

The initiative has received £47,806 from the Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund.

Businesses interested in taking up this offer should email ecodev@braintree.gov.uk

There are 30 spaces available for eligible businesses.

Council economic growth boss Frankie Ricci said: “We encourage sole traders to take advantage of this government-funded opportunity and leverage the benefits of working in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

“It means that sole traders can focus on their work and connect with like-minded individuals without financial risk and burden.

“This will not only foster growth and creativity but will also boost innovation.”
