RESIDENTS bordering Stansted Airport will be left without electricity due to engineers having to carry out planned works to a power network.

According to UK Power Networks, the energy company which maintains electricity for London and tBraintree and Witham Times: Map - area affected by the power cutMap - area affected by the power cut (Image: UK Power Network)he East of England, the planned outage will affect properties in the CM22 6 postcode area, which includes Henham, Ugley, Gaunt's End, Molehill Green and Takeley.

The planned works are set to start at 9am and take up to five hours, to then resume at 2.30pm. 

A spokesman from UK Power Network said: "We're carrying out planned work in your area.

"For our engineers to carry it out safely they need to turn the power off.

"We're doing this work as it's essential to provide reliable electricity supplies to your area.

"We're sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience.
