ANGELO Harrop is staying put at Braintree Town.

The former AFC Sudbury coach is remaining as the Iron's manager, after leading the club to a National League South play-off place in his first season as boss.

Steve Pitt will also be staying at Braintree as Harrop's assistant manager, for the 2023-24 campaign.

Harrop told the Braintree Town website: "My plans are the same as they were last season - to work hard, to work hard as a management team, recruit the correct players for this football club and for us to give it everything for us to have a successful season.

"It's an exciting season for us, probably a little bit different to last season.

"There's some fantastic teams and I really enjoyed the season.

"Difficult; it was a long season but what a successful season for Braintree Town.

"Our aim is to stay in the league; it's going to be difficult for us and there's a lot of very, very good, strong teams in our league.

"But we back ourselves and we're confident in what we can bring to the football club.

"Our fans were incredible last year so for us it's about trying to build a structure off the pitch as well as on it.

"We do things properly, we're good honest guys and we do the best we can."
