A CARE home welcomed a village Brownie group as part of a special visit.

Boars Tye Residential Home is a dementia-registered care home in Silver End.

The site is only a small one, with just 27 beds, but prides itself on providing a "home-from-home environment" for residents.

Now, as Covid is easing, the home is looking to hold more events and rebuild its relationship with the public.

Activities coordinator Kathryn Plumb said: "Covid sadly put paid to a lot of our fundraising events and relationships we had with the wider community.

"Now we are coming out the other side we are keen to rebuild these links and kick start our fundraising efforts again.

"Everything we do is to enrich the lives of our residents."

As part of this, the home welcomed the Silver End Brownies to the home.

Kathryn said: "The girls sang songs, asked the residents questions about their lives and their favourite things and gifted them pictures they had drawn.

"Everyone had so much fun and we are pleased to be making it a regular thing.

"We would be interested to hear from anyone else that thinks they have anything to offer us as a home."

Boars Tye is also hosting a dog show on June 10 and a summer fete on August 6.
