Despite it being his first and, according to him, final marathon, he pushed himself to the limit and achieved an impressive completion time of four hours and 23 minutes.

Even more inspiring is Jake's fundraising success, which surpassed his initial target of £2000.

The funds raised by his marathon endeavour will enable Braintree District Mencap to move forward with their plans to install a defibrillator in the community in the near future.

A spokesman from Braintree's Mencap said: "We are incredibly grateful to Jake for his unwavering dedication and commitment to our cause.

"Thanks to his efforts, we are one step closer to providing vital life-saving equipment that can benefit anyone in our local community."
