A PAIR of teenagers accused of attempted murder following a stabbing in Colchester will appear before court next month.

Joseph Little, 18, of St Mary’s Close, Panfield, near Braintree, and Zac Henry, 18 of Maple Court, Cambridge, are both alleged to have attempted to murder a man.

Little is also accused of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, criminal damage and affray.

Police officers were called to Magdalen Street at about 11pm on Friday, March 31 following reports of a man sustaining stab wounds.

They found a man with injuries to his chest and arm and took him to hospital in a serious condition, where he remains.

Little and Henry are expected to enter a plea to the offences they face during a hearing at Ipswich Crown Court on June 23.

During a hearing on Tuesday, a provisional trial date was identified as September 25. The trial is expected to last at least seven days.

Judge Emma Peters remanded both defendants in custody.

Speaking at the time of the incident, a police spokesman said: “We believe the incident was deliberately directed towards the victim and it poses no risk to the wider public.”
