MULTIPLE roads across Colchester and its surrounding area set to close so works can be undertaken.

Here's what roads will be shutting down and why:

  • Beverley Road, Cambridge Road and Queens Road in Colchester will be temporarily closed from May 22 for 12 days.

The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.

  • Harborough Hall Lane in Messing will be temporarily closed from its junction with The Street to its junction with Maldon Road a distance of approximately 1245m.

The closure is scheduled to commence on May 24 for three days.

Again, the closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

  • An order is also in place to temporarily close the length of Elmstead Road, Colchester, from its junction with Greenstead Roundabout to its junction with Elmstead Road Roundabout, a distance of approximately 70m.

An order is also in place to temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in that length of Elmstead Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Greenstead Roundabout to its junction with Elmstead Road Roundabout, a distance of approximately 70m for the duration of the above closure only.

The closure and restriction is scheduled to commence on May 22 for 34 nights from 8pm to 6am.

  • Ipswich Road in Colchester will be temporarily closed from a point approximately 125m south west then south east of its junction with Lancaster Approach for a distance of approximately 50m in a south westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on May 26 for six days.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

  • An order is in place to temporarily close that length of Colchester Road, Tollesbury in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 105m east of its junction with Whitehouse Hill for a distance of approximately 190m in a southerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on June 5 for 61 days.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while bridge reconstruction works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

  • An order is in place to temporarily close that length of Braintree Road, Gosfeld in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 380m north east of the junction with Halstead Road for a distance of approximately 1920m in a north easterly then north westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on June 5 for five nights from 7pm to 5am.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

  • Wesley End Road in Stambourne and Stambourne Road in Ridgewell will be temporarily closed for five days.

The length of Wesley End Road, Stambourne and Stambourne Road, Ridgewell in the District of Braintree, from the junction with Church Road to the junction with Birdbrook Road a distance of approximately 1640m will be closed.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

  • An order is in place to temporarily close that length of Bardfield Road, Bardfield Saling in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Hyde Lane for a distance of approximately 2110m in a north westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on May 22 for six days, or where stated on a valid permit.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

  • Knights Road in Braintree will be temporarily closed from a point approximately 72m north west of its junction with Stubbs Lane for a distance of approximately 10m in a north westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on May 23 for eight days, or where stated on a valid permit.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while broadband installation works are undertaken by Virgin Media.
