The wicker crown stands 15 feet tall and is turning heads at a roundabout where it is surrounded by spring flowers.

Deb says there is a specially made metal frame at the centre of the crown, which has enabled her to weave her magic around it.Braintree and Witham Times: Roundabout - Crown is placed in the centre of a major roundabout in the city centreRoundabout - Crown is placed in the centre of a major roundabout in the city centre (Image: John McLellan)

She said: "It took me some six weeks to weave it. It's made of five different types of basket-weaving willow which comes from Somerset.

There are 30 large parts used to construct the crown, which were made by Deb at her home workshop.

She said: "When I put the crown together on the roundabout, I had to weave the very top parts where the arms of the crown meet the cross, and also the bottom on site.Braintree and Witham Times: Weaver - crown is composed by 30 large pieces, which were put together by the basket weaverWeaver - crown is composed by 30 large pieces, which were put together by the basket weaver (Image: John McLellan)

"I got a few strange looks when I was doing this, but now I'm really pleased with the replica crown."

Deb has been basket weaving for 30 years and has developed a thriving business with her skills.

Other large pieces she has made include two replica battle tanks to mark Victory in Europe Day in 2020.Braintree and Witham Times: Replica - The wicker crown stands 15 feet tall and is certainly turning heads Replica - The wicker crown stands 15 feet tall and is certainly turning heads (Image: John McLellan)
